Paul Simon at the 1stBank Center

An excellent evening, Paul Simon brought me back in time with his classic hits intertwined with songs from his new album.  Unlike many contemporary artists today, he did well by not over complicating his stage.  His simple presence and good music was more than enough to evoke excitement throughout the crowd.  At 70 years old he proved he still had it in him to put on a great show and I know so many of his long lasting fans appreciated that.  I feel lucky and honored to have witnessed one of the few greats we still have left.  It reminded me of how important it is not to forget where music today has come from and how fantastic that music was, and is.  One of my favorite moments of the night was my ecstatic surprise when he played those first few notes of “Only Living Boy in New York.”  It’s such a great song and I never imagined I would get to see it live.  Check out these other great songs he played last night and I’ll be posting some of my own photos up on the Facebook page:
